Prepping For The Holidays

I feel like because we’re friends I can admit some things to you here. Safe place, right? I love/hate the holiday season.

You heard that right. Love/hate.

Love because it’s the most wonderful time of the year. No denying that.

Hate because there is just SO. MUCH. TO. DO.

Things to clean, cook, organize, show…the list goes on and on and just seems to get bigger and bigger.

But one thing I’ve done that has really helped me pull it together during the holidays are the little things that make each job a little easier. So I’m going to tell you about some of the things I rely on to help me get the job done!

Dyson Vacuums Hanging on The Wall

These vacuums are a dream come true. Not only are they super handy, but they can also be used in so many different ways.

Whether I have to clean up a quick mess before company comes over or clean up the sugar on the floor after the kids help me bake – these are so handy!  And I love that they attach straight to the wall. Braun setup these wall mounted chargers for me so that the vacuums can be plugged in.

Goldie and Vacuum

I also love the MANY attachments that come with this model because it makes it super easy to downsize and clean up after Goldie (she’s adorable but dogs are gross) or quickly vacuum the car.

Speaking of cars, these are the ones you want to get and install the wall mount in the garage for quick cleaning!

I also love the idea of a vacuum that does the work for you and have been eyeing one of the eye robot cleaners that can pick up anything we miss!

We’ve got a lot of wood flooring and in my best dreams, someone else is cleaning them. Haha!

The next thing I really rely on is basically everything in my kitchen. You’ve seen our house during a party and the kitchen is where everyone congregates. It’s also the perfect time to upgrade your cookware and make use of your appliances that may not get a lot of action!

I upgraded to this set of cookware maybe a year ago (maybe two, I might have picked it up when we moved in) and I seriously use it all the time. It comes in handy when making Scotcharoos – you can check out the recipe HERE.

The other unsung heroes in my kitchen are my Instapot, mixer and food processor.

protein balls

I cook a bunch of stuff in my Instapot. It’s my goto for cooking when I know I’m going to be busy all day and need to get dinner on fast!

I also throw everything into my mixer. Even my cooked chicken once it’s done in the Instapot (great for shredding).

And my food processor is on full-time duty during Thanksgiving and Christmas when we’re making pies.

If you batch bake or double-up recipes, I suggest going with a 9-cup or 14-cup unit. They’re a bit more expensive but will have all the room you need!

Having these gadgets make the holiday prep easier around here but you don’t have to rush out and buy them all. There are affordable options and one place I love to shop is Ebay. It gives me the best prices on new items and has saved me a bundle!

The majority of things sold on Ebay are new and are available with the “buy it now” option so you don’t HAVE to bid. And with over 1.1 billion items on sale every single day, you’re sure to find anything you’re looking for!

And you should definitely check out their ‘daily deals’ page – it’s never too early to start stocking up on holiday must-haves like extra cookie sheets or those air mattresses that come in handy for unexpected company!

Whatever you need, Ebay has you covered!
