Backpacking with Backcountry

Sponsored by Backcountry + ShopStyle

EEEEEEK! You guys, my backpacking trip is sneaking up on me and I’m low-key freaking out… I’m going with a bunch of amazing women and I’m so excited but also so nervous!

Hat | Tank | Cargo Pant | Hiking Shoes

Luckily, I knew Backcountry would have most of things I needed for the trip! I love that I can shop in one place for everything I’m looking for, even if they’re from different brands. Here’s a quick run down of what I grabbed:

Hat | Tank | Cargo Pant | Hiking Shoes

The Balanced Muscle Tank is super flowy and comfortable. It’s got a crop style fit, but it’s not super short like some brands. The material is very lightweight and the armpit holes are dropped a bit, so there will be no chafing under my arm in the heat. Hallelujah!

Hat | Tank | Cargo Pant | Hiking Shoes

I’ve been really into activewear cargo pants lately like these On The Go Cargo Pant. These are stretchy and I looove the material. I’m hoping that these keep the mosquitos off of me later in the nights. The cinching at the bottom should also be a major help with that!

I’m waaaay more excited about this hat then I need to be, haha! I love the detail on it, the color, the weight of it. It’s called the Baggies Brimmer Hat by Patagonia. It gives a good amount of sun coverage, and when I’m sick of wearing it and want to catch some rays I can just toss it back like the second picture because of the strap! The strap is also adjustable and the back cinches. If it gets windy I can snug up the fit and still be covered!

One of my most important purchases were these poles. There were so many options it was kind of overwhelming to pick a set…especially when I don’t really know what I’m getting myself into! I went with the Black Diamond Trail poles. They are made of aluminum so they are super light, and they are also adjustable which is nice because I can use them or Braun can in the future.

If you’re looking for a good shoe, this is it. I’ve had boots made by Denner for years and years now and finally took the plunge into their sneaker! Do. Not. Regret. The midsole is extra cushioned for all day use. I think this Jag Low Hiking Shoe is going to be perfect for the hike!! The color way is so dang cute. If this one isn’t your thing, they have a few other colors too! Love that I can wear them day to day, also.

Tank | Shorts | Sneakers

These Olympus Lightweight Shorts are super comfortable. The band isn’t as thick as the FP shorts – but I love it because it’s not as constricting. These are going to be more comfortable during the trip for sure, especially since we will literally be hiking for so many hours a day. These shorts are stretchy, but not tight so they move with you. They also have two zippered pockets. Love that the tank hits perfectly at the waistband.

These Cloudstratus Running Shoes aren’t making the cut for the trip because they’re just a running shoe… but I did want to mention the quality of them! They’re super cushioned and really breathable so my feet don’t get ridiculously hot! They’re ergonomically shaped just for running, so they won’t make a great hiking option. Nonetheless, I have plenty of miles to run in these guys!
