Hiking with Backcountry

Partnership with Backcountry + ShopStyle Collective

Did you hear the news?!? My dad got permits to hike in Zion National Park. I’m so excited. It’s 16 mile hike, and gosh, I cannot wait. Of course that calls for some new hiking clothes, so I hopped on Backcountry’s site and found some wayyyyy cute stuff. They’re currently having their Memorial Day Sale — and it’s dang good!! If there’s something you’re loving that isn’t included – my code TARABC15 will save you 15% on your first order at Backcountry (some exclusions apply!).

I like to keep it VERY simple when I hike and the Subway hike can be very wet.. So I had to accommodate to clothing that dries out quickly if that should happen. Only one of the Narrows trails requires a permit, that’s the one we are doing.. It is a 16-mile through-hike of the Virgin River Narrows from Chamberlain’s Ranch to the Temple of Sinawava. There is literally no other option but to walk through the River here, since there is absolutely no trail in parts. It’s pretty susceptible to flooding and high water levels.. so I chose my clothing appropriately!

Tank | Skort

First — this color combo might just be one of my all time faves.. Second, size up in stoic brand! I’ll list all my sizes – but while you’re browsing around their Memorial Day sale (helllloooo 50% off SO many amazing things) just keep that in mind!

I thought this Strappy Bra Top was SO super cute. It has more than enough support for hiking (hallelujah!) and I don’t have to wear anything underneath. It hits at the spot that any high-waisted skirt, legging, jeans, etc would hit.. so it’s perfect just to wear alone. I’m wearing a medium and the fit is perfect.

This knit skort is awesome, and if it has to get wet, it’ll dry quickly I’m sure!! It’s a good athletic material. I love the color, there are other options, too! I got this in a a small. The built in shorts hug you in without squeezing the bottom of your legs out + the waistband is pretty thick and supportive, but again, doesn’t make you uncomfortable or squeeze weird.

Jacket | Skort | Sandals

In the spring I always think I need a jacket to start hiking, probably within ten minutes I’ll be pulling this one off because I’ll be hot, but it’s a really awesome midweight layering option. If you watched stories, you’ll see that the material is super stretchy and forgiving.. it’s also moisture wicking, which is nice for any activity.. I didn’t get them, but they do make a matching base layer bottom if you’re interested in the matching set!!

I’ve raved about these Chaco Mega Z Clouds for awhile now. I bought another pair right before we went to Bora Bora, and man, they’re good. I have worn Chacos for years, but I never really loved, loved them until these. They are super supportive and comfortable – and have NOTHING between your toes. They’re awesome for hiking and adventuring, and can withstand all the weather. They have a few cute color options.

I’ve bought these Daily Tank Tops last summer and I wear them constantly. They’re just a good, light weight, soft material, full length tank top. I wear a medium in it.. it comes in five different cute colors and the arm holes are not giant! I have the green, black and violet.

These Desert Shorts are super cute + I love that the pockets are big enough to be functional… I’m wearing a small here but definitely wished I would’ve grabbed a medium.

This Atom Sling Bag is Braun’s all time favorite adventure bag. He’s dragged it all the way to Thailand and Bora Bora and back.. He doesn’t really go anywhere without it. It’s out of stock right now but linking in hopes it comes back soon!! Here’s then next size up in it by Patagonia.

HOKAs

Lastly, and maybe most excitingly!?? Backcountry now carries HOKAs!! Stay true to size in these.. They’re so, so comfortable. They’ve quickly become my favorite sneaker. The Clifton 8’s are less-space shoe looking, but the Bondis are dang comfy too. Those Gaviotas… ughhhhh. It’s really hard to pick a favorite. Backcountry carries a bunch of cute color/pattern options. I’ll link them below.
