Home Tour: Master Bedroom

I thought for sure when I built this house that my bedroom was going to be done first!

Fast forward 2 years and we’re just getting some of our pieces!

But we’ve added each piece and taken the time to be thoughtful. And the pieces we’ve purchased are some of my very favorite in our house!

BED | NIGHTSTANDS | ECHO SHOW

I’ve thought a lot about how I would describe our aesthetic. And I think I’d describe it as west coast modern/contemporary. Lots of steel, wood, glass, and cement. That meant that I needed to use the colors and fabric used in our furniture and extras to warm up our space.

With our bed, we decided to go with this modern leather platform bed from Restoration Hardware. I love the height of this headboard. It provides such a beautiful aesthetic to our light colored room (actual wall color is Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore).

We got our nightstands from the same place. We love how wide they are and feel like they really fit the space.

I don’t know the name or brand of the wall sconces in here but we purchased them from Chadwick Designs in Sandy, UT.

I showed this on my stories a while ago but we love our cord organizers. We’re able to keep all of our gadgets and cords together with handy cord clips. They stick on the back of our dressers. They keep our cords out of sight but within reach to plug in our devices!

TEEPEE

Braun and I both agreed when we built our house and decided to get dogs that they would not be allowed to go upstairs. It just provided too many opportunities for them to be naughty and cause chaos. This also meant that we would create a space for them downstairs and our bedroom has become their little getaway when Jett is bugging them too much and at night to sleep.

The dogs have their own little corner in here and they love it. We do have crates for both of them but they are out in the common areas.

TV | CONSOLE | DOG BED (similar)| TEEPEE

We recently picked up this console to go underneath our television and it’s one of my favorite pieces in my bedroom. It matches nicely to the leather headboard and is incredibly functional. I love the design on the front and it reminds me of a handmade mid-century modern piece of furniture.

We like West Elm a lot for our home furnishings and have found that they have pieces that hold up well and are durable. We recently picked up two velvet chairs to go next to our window as well.

We also made the decision to do wood floors on our first floor. I am not a fan of carpet and instead, opted to put area rugs throughout. Our flooring Provenza Old World Siberian Oak.

We also went with black blackout roller shades that are set to go up and down automatically at sunrise + once it gets dark. And everything is run through our Vivint smart home! Braun is a rep there (going on 15 years) and loves hooking you guys up!

BEDDING | FUR BLANKET | PILLOWS | PLATFORM BEDNIGHTSTANDS

Goldie goes to sleep with a corner of this blanket in her mouth every single night! It’s the funniest thing. She just grabs a corner, sinks her teeth in and passes out. It’s adorable! We are currently rocking a Sterns & Foster mattress but are looking to get into something else! If you have any recommendations, tell me in the comments!
