Intuitive Eating With Daily Harvest

This post is sponsored y Daily Harvest

If you’re a woman, you’ve probably had a relationship with food that is a bit complicated.

You’ve most likely foregone dessert to fit into a dress, skipped a meal and then devoured anything in sight hours later, or gone on a complete sugar fast. But I know, at one point before all that, you just ate because you were hungry.

A little over 2 years ago I got serious about my health. And one of the major decisions I made from the very beginning was that I wasn’t going to follow any crazy dieting. I don’t love diet culture and as my family follows my lead, it’s definitely not something I wanted to introduce them to.

So I made it easier on myself and decided to keep healthy, quick snacks and meals that would nourish my body while hitting all of my familiar cravings! So I partnered with Daily Harvest to show you too can make intuitive eating the easiest and healthiest choice while not sacrificing flavor and yummy foods!

WHAT IS DAILY HARVEST

Daily Harvest is a food subscription service that is “Built on fruits and vegetables. Delivered to your door, and ready in minutes.” It’s comprised of premade meals that are fresh, fast, and so delicious! From their website:

“We believe that good food can actually fix things, and we’re passionate about how we bring it to life. Start with exceptional ingredients. Combine them all into something phenomenal. Eat one more dose of fruits + veggies without even trying. It’s how we take care of food so food can take care of you.”

How It Works

You’re in the driver’s seat with Daily Harvest. That means you decide what you’re shipped, how much, and when! It’s all about building the perfect box for you. Maybe you’re looking to supplement midday snacking and need something filling but that isn’t going to tank your energy levels (I love a smoothie for this). Or maybe you’re looking for simple, nutritious breakfasts that you can have ready in minutes (their Oat Bowls are delicious!).

The point is, Daily Harvest is flexible. It’s there to support you during snack and meal-time with super yummy, nourishing alternatives.

What They Offer

Daily Harvest has come a long way from their initial smoothie offerings! You can now choose from:

Smoothies (like the Mint + Cacao, tastes like Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream)

Harvest Bowls (like the Cauliflower Rice + Pesto, tastes like Pesto Risotto)

Flatbreads (like the Tomato + Cremini, tastes like my favorite pizza)

Soups (like the Lentil + Mesquite, tastes like Southwest Chili)

Oat Bowls (like the Mulberry + Dragon Fruit, tastes like a Berry Patch)

Chia Bowls (like the Blackberry + Majik, tastes like Blackberry Banana Pie)

Scoops (like the Strawberry +Rich, tastes like Strawberry Ice Cream)

Lattes (like the Matcha + Lemongrass, tastes like a Matcha Latte)

Bites (like the Cacao Nib + Vanilla, tastes like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough)

As I said, they offer the perfect mix for whatever you’re looking for! And they continue to add more and switch combinations and flavors all the time.

It’s Simple

Making a healthy snack or a meal has never been easier. Seriously. These make me so happy! And another thing I love is that my kids can make any one of their items as well! In fact, Braun came home the other night while we were all away and was digging through the freezer and pulled out one of my Harvest Bowls. He LOVED it!

My favorite snack right now is their smoothies and they’ve done all the heavy lifting for you! Simply:

  1. Choose your liquid base (milk, juice, water – and they always recommend one on the cup)
  2. Fill the cup to the top with your chosen liquid and then pour the entire cup contents into the blender
  3. Blend and pour finished smoothie back in your cup

That’s it! 3 easy steps. Then place the lid back on and insert the provided straw. Honestly, any time I make one of these, I have to be careful when turning my back or one of my sneaky kids comes and steals it from me!

My Routine

My routine is constantly changing because I like diversity. I like to switch it up and have an Oat Bowl one morning and a Smoothie the next. And I usually plan for a Daily Harvest item when I know time is of the essence and I need to feel full but also feel my best. I need my food to fuel me.

One thing that has really helped is to have a variety on hand so that I can eat intuitively and give my body what it’s craving! Like this Flatbread I had for lunch yesterday:

And you can really make each recipe your own with additions like a chicken breast or egg to a Harvest Bowl or anything else you might like to add!
