I think that I’ve discovered America’s next greatest pass time.. MAHJONG. If you’ve been following me for a minute you know that it’s basically all I want to do these days. I’m OBSESSED. I’ve been getting DMs asking how to play, what to buy, and all things Mahjong, so I’m putting it all in one place for easy finding!
For a game of Mahjong you need:
- 4 National Mahjong League cards
- 4 Racks
- 1 set of American Mahjong Tiles
- 1 Mat
- 1 Square Table – This white foldable table and black foldable table are great because they fold in half. I keep one in my car for Mahjong on the go haha. I want THIS one too.
- 1 Table Lamp for night time is nice (but not essential).. I love this one and this one!
Now for the fun stuff, the mats + tiles are what originally drew me to Mahjong because they’re so pretty… and the clicky tile sounds, ah I love it so much!

Here’s the thing, you can totally find less $ sets on Amazon. Just make sure they are AMERICAN MAHJONG sets that have numbers on the tiles AND come with BLANKS and JOKERS. Here’s an amazon list I’ve put together! Then, you can buy cute racks and a cute mat from a nicer place.
