We’ve all heard it from our moms or from fashion magazines – you gotta have the basics in your wardrobe. A great pair of jeans, a basic tee that goes with everything, a little black dress…and the perfect white tennis shoe.
And like these other basics, a white tennis shoe is something that should have a permanent place in your closet. Victoria Beckham has her Stan Smiths, bloggers are loving the Veja V-10, and Superstars are a cult classic ever since they were made famous by Run DMC.
Don’t worry, they’re all on my list below because what I love most about all 3 of those is that they’re all pretty wallet-friendly.
But if you want to stand out from the crowd instead of repurchasing the same sneaker you’ve worn for the past three years, I rounded up my favorite majorly cool (and not totally played out) alternatives. Your new favorite, wear-with-everything sneaker awaits.
My Totally White $100 or Less Picks
You can absolutely get a great pair of white kicks for less than $100. Here are some of my favorites:
When it comes to picking the right pair, there are a few things I look for! I really dislike the super straight, long white tennies. I don’t want my feet to look 10 ft long. And this feature is made worse when the shoes are super low profile – like no sole whatsoever. If you’re gonna do a super flat, low sole, you need a white tennis shoe with shape. Me? I prefer a little height to my soles. At 5’4″ I’ll take any extra height I can get!
The other thing to consider is that a lot of the lower-priced options will have the same silhouette but in a lot of different finishes and variations of white. Like the Supergas above. You can grab them in canvas or crocodile!
Adding A Pop of Color

If you’re really wanting a change and to stand out a bit, I totally recommend going with a shoe that has a pop of color or a neutral pattern. These can easily be worn with most outfits just like a pure white – they’re just more fun! And choosing a pair with a little bit of flash shows your personal style!
A lot of these would still be considered pure whites by most but I think the little bit of color makes them pop. And they come in at every price point!

Shoes Worth The Investment
There aren’t many things or products that I would say are worth throwing a couple hundred bucks at but a great pair of white sneakers will last you FOREVER. Of course, my favorites are Golden Goose and there are so many good options. They are made so well, are really comfortable, and already look like they’re well-loved without looking like you’ve had them for 10 years. Almost every single pair could stand-in as a “basic” regardless of color or style. They’re just that good! And you’ll own them forever!
