Vacation Home Tour: Family Room

It’s hard to walk into our home in St. George and not feel overwhelmed by the main shared living area or living room. It’s big and can seem overdone, but I think it’s pretty great! It seats, like, 30 people and is really where we congregate and spend most of our time.

As I’ve mentioned in other home tours for our vacation home, this house came 90% furnished (hallelujah). It’s got a lovely Westcoast-modern style and is right in line with my personal tastes. Lots of natural materials, light colors, and decor pieces that feel like we’ve owned them forever.

The main seating area is really open and has two leather sofas surrounding a cement coffee table (similar linked). We have additional seating at 2 mirrored dining tables on the back and side edge of the main seating area.

This room has massive oversized windows that lead out to our pool area. The rest of the room is fairly neutral with bright white paint. It’s the same color I have on my walls ni northern Utah, Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. The hardwood floors are LVP (same thing we put in our basement up north) and are Provenza Moda Living in the Finally Mine colorway. The lower built-ins are painted Benjamin Moore’s Santorini Blue.

Pieces like this chair make this space really unique and fun to spend time in. Jett has fallen asleep in this chair on more than one occasion! As for the rug, I think any vintage bleached Persian would work in this space. This rug is from Lulu and Georgia. They have a ton of beautiful options.

If you’ve seen pictures of this space before we moved in, the original design had a wooden coffee table and lamps on the end tables. With kids running through and balls and toys bouncing off the walls, I felt that table lamps weren’t the smartest choice! Plus, those big windows let in a TON of light!

Honestly, the more I’m in this space, the more I love it. It was the beauty of the design that sold me but it’s been how useful this space is that has me falling in love with this house. We’ve only had it a short time and have already created so many incredible memories. This year has been tough on everyone and it’s been such a blessing to have an escape. It’s close enough to make weekend trips but far enough away that it can be snowing at home and 85 degrees here.

I can’t wait to make more memories and of course, we’ll bring you guys along. I hope you’re loving this home tour and thanks for being patient with me as I reveal it room by room!
