What kind of camera do you use?
I decided to get serious about photography last year and purchased a Sony A9. I previously had a Sony A7Rii and LOVED it so I knew I wanted to stay with a mirrorless camera. I will do a whole blog post on mirrorless cameras but let’s just say, they’re small/compact and super easy to haul around! The majority of the time I am shooting with a Sony 35mm 2.8. If I don’t care about hauling around my bigger lens, I use a 24-70mm 2.8.
Do you own Poppy and Dot?
I sure do! Well I own it with one of my best friends, Layla. Together we have created something I only hoped would happen one day! We get to help women feel beautiful day in and day out. I love what I do!
What made you want to start blogging again?
I used to blog and I blogged often! I remember the first month I hit 100k visitors in the month, I was so proud! I then became a mom of 4 and I needed a little something easier for the time being. I switched to using Instagram as my main platform and am ready to get back into the blogging world again!
How did you know you needed to go gluten free?
I have eaten gluten and MSG free for almost 7 years now. Wow, time flies! I plan to do a full blog post about this soon but here is the shortened version. There was a time in my life where I was diagnosed with arthritis, would have daily migraines, constant brain fog, super tired, etc. etc. It was brutal. I was in my early 20’s and just knew I couldn’t go on feeling the way I was feeling forever. I went and got tested for celiac disease (I had never known anyone with it at that point!) My blood test came back positive for celiacs and I was so overwhelmed by it all. I went off gluten cold turkey and didn’t notice any difference for about 3 months. I went in and got endoscopy to double check the celiac diagnosis and at that point, I had been off gluten for so long my results were inconclusive. I still stayed off gluten though because I was desperate. Slowly but surely, I got feeling better and I know without a doubt that gluten and msg were the things causing all those symptoms!
How tall are you?
People are always so surprised by my height when they meet me. Apparently I seem taller in pictures? I am 5’4 on a good day! 🙂
How do you travel so frequently?
Guys. I used to be a professional coupon shopper. Literally, I taught classes on it. I would never pay full price for anything and would literally dumpster dive for coupons in the big newspaper recycling dumpsters. Fast forward a few years, I now apply everything I learned in the couponing world and I apply it to traveling. I will be showing you how to do that soon!
