If you’ve ever had a 1-sink bathroom that you share with your husband and are still married – bless you. Been there and while I was very thankful for our 1-sink bathroom, I’m very thankful for 2.
But more than that, I’m super grateful for the storage space we had designed into our home because it has been the saving grace from counter clutter, stacks of towels, hair tools everywhere…you know what I’m talking about.
And doing my makeup or hair doesn’t make my bathroom look like a bomb went off because now, everything in my bathroom has a place.
I’ve got a bunch of stuff in my bathroom and it’s become the catch-all for everything my family needs and everything that I want to have tucked out of sight. I don’t have massive amounts of people traipsing through my master bath but I don’t necessarily want my economy sized box of tampons sitting next to my toilet – know what I mean?
The best thing about finally organizing your bathroom is that you’ll know exactly where to find all of your products — no frantic looking during the morning rush — and maybe even feel inspired to devote a little more time to your self-care routine. I know that when my space is clean, I worry less about the mess and can focus on other things.
I’ve looked everywhere and at less than $1 a piece, these plastic storage bins are the perfect way to start. You’re going to get 20 to start with and they’re going to run you $26 for the set. They come with lids and are super easy to use. I don’t have mine labeled because mine are clear to make it easy to see the contents but you can easily use a label maker to mark yours.
Organizing By Shelf
My organization is super basic! I keep things organized by shelf and easily accessible based on what I use on a regular basis.
Top Shelf: This is where I keep groups of non-essentials together or complete sets of stuff together. I’ve got travel bottles, sunscreens, band-aids + first aid, extra toothbrushes, and toothpaste. I also keep my skincare in a bin as well. It typically it needs to be stored someplace dark and cool and keeping it in a bin works!

Middle Shelf: The middle shelf is where I keep everything I use daily and keep stock! This goes for tanning supplies, shampoo and conditioner, hair product…

Lower Shelf: This is for all of my hair tools: Hairdryer, straightener, curling iron – and a few more containers with hair accessories: bobby pins, scrunchies, etc!
On the bottom shelf is where I keep towels and toilet paper! There’s enough space on the floor to keep a laundry basket to keep dirty laundry tucked away. This is perfect for used towels, wet washcloths, and unmentionables! These laundry baskets are my favorite because they’re stackable and they don’t crush the clothing in the basket below!
I think a closet in your bathroom is a bit of a luxury and more common in new builds. Most older homes won’t have this type of storage space available. There are a lot of ways to add additional storage to your existing space. You can customize your space, keep it organized, and still make your space look pretty!
Undersink Storage
SLANTED STORAGE | STORAGE SHELVES
I don’t really get bathroom cabinets. You’ve got like 2 feet of vertical empty space but products that are only a couple inches high. I like to put shelving and storage in there to maximize my space. I love using hanging magazine holders as storage for additional hair/face products like the white ones above, but I also love using this shelving as well and I love that it’s clear and tray-like to hold wet items that need to dry out.
You can also opt to repurpose a craft drawer stack/organizer for cabinet storage! These smaller drawers are perfect for hair accessories or you could opt for something with a little more storage like these long stackable drawers! You can go with drawers that are made to go under your sink but they’re always more expensive that the craft drawers! And if you just can’t imagine what you would put in your space, here are a ton of options and configurations to make the most of the space under your sink!

Toilet Area Storage
If you don’t have storage except for under the sink, a great place to store things is above your toilet by using a modern ladder shelf to make use of empty space. Throw a few baskets on them for even more organization. If a wire standing shelf isn’t your thing, you can always opt for floating shelves above the toilet or a toilet paper caddy!
And if all of these seem like too much work, a rolling caddy might be your thing! I’m sure you’ve seen these colored retro ones around or you can go super modern and go with a tiered wire rack.
I’d love to see what you do in your space so make sure you tag me in your posts! For more bathroom storage and organization ideas click HERE.
