My ideal winter day is my house at a cozy 75 degrees with a couple feet of snow on the ground and more on its way. I’ve got hot chocolate close at hand, a big fire going, my favorite blanket wrapped around me and a good book in hand.
In reality, I’m wiping the puddles up where the snow that was dragged in on my kid’s boots has melted, Goldie is getting my couch soaked with her snow-caked paws, and I’m counting down the days until warmer weather hits again.
We’ve gotta live in the present, right? But that doesn’t mean I have to give up my daydream…entirely. I did what anyone does when they have to make the most of a crappy situation – I went shopping. Haha! If I’m going to have to put up with snow for a few months, I can look cute doing it.
And I scored. BIG TIME!
If you’re like me, you get stuck shopping at all the same places. Why? Because it’s easy. Comfortable. And isn’t that what we tired moms need?
But I also need quality and decently priced. I’ve been on the search all season for the perfect slouchy sweater and couldn’t find anything I liked that I felt would hold up for a few seasons and that I could get for under $100 bucks. When you buy as many clothes as I do, you’ve got to get them for a good price. I do still want to be able to buy my kids a decent meal – kidding!

I’m gonna let you in on a little secret that I just discovered and honestly, I wish I would have known a little sooner. Walmart has partnered with a lot of awesome brands! Premium brands like Lord & Taylor which give you access to a boatload of brands like Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld (what?!?), Betsey Johnson, and a ton of other brands I love!
Believe it or not, I got this entire outfit for under $100 bucks. The quality is sooo good – so good! These leggings easily rival some fruit-inspired ones I have so many of. They are flat seamed, with a side pocket on the hip for a phone or ID. This sweatshirt is also one I plan to rock all winter and would look just as good with some jeans and winter boots!

I also found this super cute sweatshirt in 3 colors (2 made it home with me) and I did grab a set of jammies that I am practically living in them (the secret life of Instagram, right?). I have found so many stinking cute pieces to mix, match, and layer!
So I did what any good friend would do and I scoured the site to find the gems that will have you looking like a million dollars but won’t break the bank in the process so that you can stock up on the clothes that are going to keep you warm this winter.
