Family Pictures in the Cactus'

I have had this dream for along time. I wanted to get pictures taken of my family in the wild cactus. I have always loved them, they are such a fascinating plant to me so I was super excited when I found out we were going to Arizona for Spring Break. I researched a bunch of different photographers and finally decided on Kristie Ann Photography. I loved her bright, airy pictures and I was so excited she was up for it!

I swear something crazy always happens when you plan family pictures. ALWAYS. We got off to a late start and Braun nailed the curb with our rim… so yeah. He wasn’t thrilled right from the start. I was nervous he was going to have to be smiling through gritted teeth all night! Yikes. haha! Emery had strep, so she was flushed, hot and sweaty and wasn’t super excited about them either.

Then we didn’t have time to eat before we left so I grabbed a ton of snacks for us all to eat along the way. But that meant that I didn’t want the kids spilling on their clothes (specifically Jett) so I strapped him in his carseat with just a diaper and put everyones nice clothes in the back of the car to throw on when we got there.

Well we showed up at the Botanical Gardens and Jett’s shorts were NOWHERE to be found. I had totally left his shorts on the counter at the house. DUH Tara. Such a rookie mistake. We were already 25 minutes late but we had no choice. Braun looked up the nearest Target and 30 minutes later, we were snapping pictures like it was the most perfect day ever. haha! Luckily the pictures turned out so great and you can hardly tell we were basically a train wreck before they were all taken. PHEW!
