Weekend Update: 05/05/19

So…I did a thing!

I chopped off my hair! Oh man, I haven’t had short hair in forever. But I’m loving the change and looking forward to a care-free (less time doing my hair) summer!

I had told Jess that I was thinking of chopping my hair and to not let me chicken out at my appointment. Went into the salon unsure but left with a cut I am totally loving. I had a lot of you ask how she cut it. I had her keep the front of my hair long without any layers and kept the rest pretty blunt. And she did some vertical snips throughout the back to break up the volume!

BASEMENT UPDATE

Our basement is totally done being framed.. and has been for about 3 weeks. We made the decision not to finish out basement when we built our house so we could save and really build a space we would love to spend time in, could create great memories, and that our kids could enjoy as they get older. I’m sure our builders would love to be further along but they’re just waiting on me to get them plumbing info (someone who doesn’t know me gave me this job OBVIOUSLY) while they dig up some of the concrete and move around some pipes! I think we’re definitely going to have some of our favorite upstairs features put in down here as well.

Also, gotta figure out theater room ventilation work this week too – again, who gives me these jobs??? I gotta talk to the boss.

PENNIE GOT SHIPPED OFF

Pennie is off to boot camp! She is in there with two other pups named Pepper and Petey. 3 P’s in a pod. I hope she is killing it! Braun (and the rest of us) are going to be so happy when she isn’t peeing when she sees new people or in her kennel! Training made such a difference with Goldie. I plan on having our carpets and furniture cleaned before she gets home!

MEAL PREPPING LIKE A BOSS

Kind of…I’m working on it! And I made BBQ chicken earlier this week and tripled my recipe. It has SAVED us for lunches and after church snacks. This was one of those “ah-ha!” moments you have every once in a while as a mom that totally makes your life easier. And it’s not new. People have done it before me. Heck, I’ve done it before! But sometimes I forget that life can be easier. Haha If you want to make this super yummy recipe you can get it HERE.

COMING UP THIS WEEK

I feel like I finally cracked the code this week and cannot wait for my #TechTuesday post! It’s LIFE CHANGING! It is an app that has CHANGED everything for me when it comes to brain dumps & not forgetting things!

I’m also finally spilling the beans on this whole ‘Influencer’ thing. The truth is, I kind of fell into this. But as I’ve grown, I’ve discovered that this can be a full-time gig for ANYONE if you have the right attitude, you know who you are, and have a passion for sharing. So, I sat down and made a list of all of my resources, things I’ve learned, email templates I’ve perfected, how I reach out – ALL THE THINGS! And I will be writing a weekly blog post teaching you how to do exactly what I do!

Keep in mind, I didn’t go into this with any special skill set. I seriously just LOVE sharing and I’m glad you guys do too!
