“Back to school. Back to school…” Any Billy Madison fans here?
I am so excited for my kids to go back to school! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE having them home all summer and we have a blast getting into trouble, vacationing, and just enjoying one another’s company, but this tired momma needs a few hours in the day to get stuff done!
And if your kids are anything like mine, back-to-school shopping is a real crowd pleaser – each kid loves stocking up on their favorites and it makes going back to school a fun adventure!
What makes it fun for me is trying to find the best deals on the things they need the most and sometimes turns into a game to see how low I can get them to go on prices! I’ve put together a little breakdown of pricing in each store we frequent and what to look for!
Target is always one of my favorite places to stop – duh, it’s Target – and they price match their competitors up to 14 days after purchase, although some restrictions apply.
The 10 best deals:
- Crayola 24-count crayons: 50 cents
- Crayola 12-count colored pencils or fine-line colored markers: 99 cents
- Crayola 10-count broad markers: 99 cents
- School supply box: 99 cents
- Elmer’s 5-count Disappearing Purple glue sticks: $1.49
- Ticondergoa 30-count No. 2 pencils: $5.99
- Trans by Jansport Backpacks: Starting at $13.48
- Re-Usable lunch bags in fun prints: $3.99
- Fulton Lunch Bucket Bag: $8.99
- Leak-Proof Reusable Zip Lock Bags: $6.99
Target also has an awesome program called “School List Assist” where you can search class supply lists by zip code and school name that teachers have uploaded. If your child’s teacher has uploaded their list, you can add all the listed supplies to your cart for local in-store pickup or get it shipped straight to your home!
