New Bose Audio Sunnies With QVC

QVC compensated me to write this blog post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

But honestly? I would have said the same stuff for FREE!

QVC recently launched new Bose Frames available at QVC.com and they’re kind of awesome!

wearing the Rondo style

Not just kind of, but TOTALLY awesome. And they’re magic.

Bose’s new audio sunglasses, available in 2 styles: the Rondo and the Alto, were seriously made for someone like me!

TOP: ALTO | BOTTOM: RONDO

But being the nerdy, tech junkie I am, these frames went everywhere with me in Hawaii! I wanted to tell you all about them then but I was testing em out and making sure they were worth sharing!

DESIGNER SUNNIES FOR HALF THE COST

Also, these are basically designer sunnies with the magic of earphones built in. I love my current Bluetooth wireless buds but I would totally switch them out for these in a lot of situations!

Instead of sitting in your ear and blocking out everything that is going on around you, these speakers are built inside the frame’s temples and provide an open-ear audio experience (their words) and anyone around you has no idea that you’re rocking out while wearing your sunnies!

SUNNIES THAT DO IT ALL

You can listen to music, take calls, and even boss Siri or Google Assistant around! Speaking of robot assistants, have you seen that meme going around saying “I never thought I’d live to see the day where I would mix up my robot assistant names!” haha

THE DETAILS

And for all the nerds (like me), here are the specs (no pun intended):

  • Includes Bose Frames sunglasses with hard case, magnetic charging cable, microfiber pouch, and quick-start guide
  • Bluetooth wireless technology
  • Miniature Bose electronics hidden in temples
  • Open-ear audio
  • Integrated microphone
  • Multi-directional motion sensor
  • Non-polarized lenses
  • Block up to 99% of UVA/UVB rays
  • Siri-, Google Assistant-ready
  • For use with Bose Connect app
  • Bose AR-enabled
  • Bose and Bose Frames are trademarks of Bose Corporation, 832029-0010B
  • RONDO Measurements: Frames 5.5″W; Bridge 0.61″W; Lens 1.94″W
  • ALTO Measurements: Frames 5.8″W; Bridge 0.70″W; Lens 2.04″W
  • 1-year Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty
  • Imported

And the best part? Whether I’m driving, sunning by the pool in Hawaii, or hitting Disneyland with the whole Poppy & Dot crew, I am still hearing the sounds around me, can respond quickly when someone starts talking to me, and it all works with my phone.

And I don’t know how they did it but it’s almost like the sound is being sent through the bones in my head! All you scientists out there, weigh in – is this a thing? Because sound has never sounded so crisp and clean.

The Alto style is more angular in shape and a slightly larger fit. And, the Rondo (round) frames are a bit more classic and are perfect for my head size! Braun has been using the Altos and LOVES them!

You can check out QVC.com for more details and even see these bad boys in action!

Hey Tara thanks so much for your review I think I’m going to need to buy these for summer runs. Also, I’m a speech language pathologist and yes bone conduction (sound traveling through your skull) is absolutely a thing. That is the reason why when you hear a recording of yourself you think “do I really sound like that?” It is also why when you have a cold and your ears are congested you feel like you are shouting because you can hear yourself so loudly but other voices are more quiet. Our voices are transmitted directly to our ears through bone conduction which makes the inner ear bones vibrate resulting in sound. All other sounds come from airwaves which vibrate the eardrum which vibrates the inner ear bones. I hope that makes sense

Kelly – thank you so much for explaining this to me! This is the coolest thing! I’m totally sold on this tech. I totally geek out about this type of thing.

    Hi Tara!
I’m thinking of getting these as a gift for a friend. Are others around you able to hear what you’re listening to?
    Thank you!

If it’s at it’s loudest, yes. They will be able to hear a hum. If you listen at normal levels, both Braun and I weren’t able to hear the other’s.
